Note to All Managers U7/U8/U9/U10

Results from fixtures at U10 age group and younger must not be published online as per the Youth League Rules. Please ensure you remind your players parents of this.

I noticed several managers/parents (not saying from which club(s)) in breach of this rule yesterday following the first round of fixtures and don't want the club falling foul of the rules.

Also waiting for several managers to collect their league handbooks from me, please do so as quickly as possible, they are still taking up valuable space in my car boot.

Cheers - Martin

I've checked the FA mini-soccer rules on this, and for this season, no league tables at under 10s should be published (not that they ever were locally). I cannot see the provision in the mini-soccer rules that says no scores should be published.  Maybe the youth league are going stronger on this than the FA.

Does that mean on social media as well and if so how can the club be held responsible for parents putting results on Facebook etc.

I think that's where I was coming from with my post- my take on the FA rule is that they have extended to under 10s that no results or league tables should be published by the league itself. It would seem utterly unmanageable to police the internet to stop anyone discussing the games on social media- I do not think that is the aim of the rule from the FA viewpoint

I think the league handbook has been amended this year and Rule 16 states any scores over 9 shown in any media source will be contravention of the rule. I suspect the league will look to enforce any noted on Facebook and I have already contacted a mother of another u14s girls team to warn her about it.

Like Brian says the reporting of the results of any u10 and below age group matches must be an FA rule, its mentioned on page 43 of the handbook but don't see it within the league rules themselves (might be wrong there is a lot to read).

It would be hard on any team to get punished if one of their players or parents posted a result on FB which was not in accordance with the above

The wording of the requirements for reporting of and recording of scores are stated in the League Handbook on Page 43 and say:

"Results of fixtures for U10 will not appear on the League website, and MUST not be recorded in any offline or online media format."

Results must not go on social media for the affected age groups, it is the team managers responsibility to engage the parents of their players on this and gain their support.

There is no problem with team photo's etc or comments regarding "good performances" etc going online it is simply the "Results" which cannot be published.

Cheers,

Martin
