We are seeing some silly scores in the under 14s league this season- City Blues beat Gillford Park 24-0 yesterday. It's hard to see how anyone gains from this state of affairs.
It's a good job that the league have introduced roll on / roll off substitutions otherwise these scores would be so much higher. It would be a lot better playing same age groups as when the u14's move up next season they will get hammered off the stronger u16's. one problem could be there are not too many proper u 14's teams so the league would be quite small.
Its not much fun being on either side of a scoreline like that but had roll on/ roll off subs not been introduced i fear the result would have been much greater.
Single aged leagues are the way forward to keep boys developing and staying in football
I know a team from Dalston tried to push for this a couple of years ago and got no support from other teams in the same age group so it did not get anywhere, maybe time for someone to try again.
