Reverse Fixtures
Permalink

Hi All, the league have put on there message board that all teams who have finished there fixtures have to reverse them, i have tried to organise my next weeks fixtures and some of the managers think that they have to start from the 1st fixture, i have spoken to Doreen from the league and she has told me that this is not the case you have to start from your last fixture as i thought.

Cheers

Raymond

Sorry, but Doreen is incorrect.

The fixtures should be started again from the begining as they stand, only reverse them, so if you played at home you play the reverse fixture away...simples.

Reverse doesnt mean start at the bottom and work back up.

Being the Age Rep, I have discussed it with Mike Obrien and that was his intention. Start again but switch the venue. That goes for 7,8,9,10 & 11

There's a youth league meeting tomorrow night (Thursday) 7.30- so this question can be answered then

Hi all, have spoken to a few managers about the reverse fixture issues all seem to agree that your last fixture would then become your first fixture, we have 18 teams in our league so if we were to start at the start we would not have enough weekends to play all the teams, so would most likely not play the last 8  - 10 teams on the fixture list,

if we were to reverse them the way everyone seems to think,  then the games that have been called off over the last 8 - 10 weeks would be our 1st fixtures at least that way we would get to play all the teams in the league.

seems to be a no brainer to me

agree totally raymond seems the best way to do it at least we`ll get to play all teams at least once instead of half of them twice .. great minds think alike biggrinbiggrin. maybe a little thick us morton boys but common sense gets us through...wink

I brought this up last year at longhorn meeting and was basically ignored by the league when most managers agreed.U could mention tomorrow at meeting but reckon u will get same response.Makes a lot of sense with everyone missing the same fixtures .

We shouldnt be surprised by the confusion, its a Longhorn commitee trade mark !
They have messed up most of the youth leagues this season, laughing stock of cumbria

Was speaking to an Abbeytown manger today and he is as confused as you all are, just glad the U12s so far seem to be the only age group not affected ............................yet.

Hopefully there will be clarification at this evening.

I heard what happened at the meeting last night and with out doubt Raymonds proposal made the most sense.
Lets hope it comes off!

What was his proposal?

Hi Brian - my proposals were, because we have missed the last 8 - 10 games due to the weather it would make sense to start at the back of the fixtures rather that the front, that way we would be playing the teams we have not played first.

as mentioned before if we start at the front there is not enough time to play all fixtures before the end of the season, so some teams we would not even play this season    Cheers blankstareblankstare

I agree-  and I thought the fixtures, for older age groups, are put together that  way anyway

TOTALLY agree with Raymond/Raino from the start, reverse the fixture list and we will play the teams  from the bottom and work our way back up and then play some of the matches we have missed due to the weather. Then at least we play the teams we have missed ..........SIMPLES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ALL The u9's managers seem to have worked this one out and are going from the bottom to the top.biggrinbiggrin
Why is IT such a problem for someone at the longhorn league just to create a full fixture list for the season???????disbelief
cheers Nuggy

If we at U8  do as the league is saying, by catching up on your games you have missed before starting again this will cause more problems with arranging fixtures. we have all missed about 8 games, so who will we play first out of them 8 its all going to end up MESSED UP all teams will be trying to arrange games with who ever the can get one with.

Why dont we just set a date like next week and start all games from the back of the fixtues, then that way everyone knows who they are playing and there will be no mix up ...........SIMPLES!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i would have no problem in informing all U8 managers of these changes blankstareblankstare

same old same old from a commitee who dont know their arse from their elbow, dont think theres one youth league they have messed up this season, the commitee are a complete and utter shambles and should hang their heads in shame for making what should have been an easy decision into an absolute farce.
