Last week all papers and pundits were shouting for Gareth Barry to play against Algeria, he was the man to get England going !!...well that didnt work did it ...now its Joe Cole who is the superstar England are missing !! yea right ..i dont see how he will make that much of a difference Now "the best thing since sliced bread" Fabio has turned into the "mouldy doughnut" who this time next week may well have a very tidy pay-off from FA to leave the job ! So why are they so good individually but utter crap collectively? Did they play much more inferior teams in qualifying rounds? How come media etc are complaining about Fabio's tough minded regime now, surely it was exactly the same regime through the qualifiers, whats suddenly changed? When you look at Capello's record, he is very strong in domestic football, but hasn't won much at international level, even as a player. It's a big step-up and a completely different ball game. I think he's on a big learning curve too, and without much time left to do it.
I thought Barry had a good game the other night, with the two "prima donnas" alongside him contributing nothing.
