I would be interested to read any of the managers/players/coach/parents/supporters review of the year for any of the teams at the club they are involved in or watch.
I have watched much of the County league teams games this year and have to say that whilst I was disappointed for the lads to lose out in 2 semi finals and be pipped in the last few games for promotion, on the whole it has been a very satisfying year. A new manager in Paul Henderson has come to to fore, he has done a very good job under testing times (dont forget if the alliance team are short for any reason he loses a player(s)), managed to fit in his level 2 (successfully), developed several players who have become regular 1st team players and helped make some others genuinely better footballers.
I would not bet against them winning promotion next year, nows theres the kiss of death boys.
Good post Mark- here's the chance to put your season reviews.
I have seen most of the Alliance games. The season started very well and did dip a bit, for a variety of reasons. The weather was obviously a big factor, which of course affected all teams- the side never seemed to click as well after all the interruptions.
The injury to Adam Bradley was a big factor- the loss of probably the best keeper in the division was always going to be a massive blow.
Steve Bellas has faced the perennial problem of ever-changing sides due to injuries, unavailability, work commitments, etc.
Younger players are coming through and have done well- Matty Shore, Andrew Griffiths, Dan Gawith & Calvin Rowell in particular.
The club owes great thanks to Steve Bellas as well as Bender, Mark Todd, Willie Armstrong & John Cannon for all their efforts. Everyone who contributes to the Alliance side knows what a task it can be, but hopefully there will be some rewards.
This question seems to crop up more than any other on this board. Adam had a knee injury and, as far as I know, he had an operation. Maybe someone else can enlighten us.
