I have been advised by Steve Bellas of the tragic news of the death of Dan Barclay a player in our senior squad at Carlisle City. Dan has played for both the Alliance and County sides in recent years.
Out thoughts, prayers and condolences are with his family and friends at this time. As a club, we will look to pay our respects in Dan's memory in an appropriate way.
Our Executive Meeting scheduled for Monday 9 November has been cancelled.
It was very difficult to hear this news on Saturday whilst the Alliance game was being played. As a number of people said on the day, news like this puts all things into perspective.
A loss of such a young man with his future ahead of him is tragic. We can only offer all our support and best wishes to Dan's family.

I'd just like to say thank you and well done to all the CCFC people who atended Dan's funeral service yesterday, it was right and fitting that so many turned up to say goodbye to such a top bloke and smashing footballer.
Like so many have said on this site and on the news and star website he will be missed but never forgotten.
"I'm the best 15 clem centre back at the club wilbo" was what he used to say to me and he was right.
