Kerro and i will pledge a week each to the walk. We just need to sort out a couple of things at work then we can tell you which days we will do. It will probably be that I do the beginning and he will take over at the half way stage, as I couldn't stand spending a whole week in a camper van with a Dark sider and a gooner
Waza - How many of the GSC are doing it with you, tell Marcus he can wear his power vest then he will come
Seriously though people, we need as many volunteers as possible to help out on this one please, apart from the fund raising element, it should be a great laugh seeing Reggie Kray do 400 miles. Any ideas anyone has to raise money and publicise this event would be greatly appreciated.
nice to see a couple of pensioners helping waza on his walk, hope you 2 are setting off an hour before he does each day! seriously good on ya wilbo, me and the missus will come along and help as well her with the walking me with the driving(old footie injury prevents me from walking to far) how about lots of media coverage, local tv, radio, papers etc, we also need to contact C.U.F.C. for permission to collect and walk round pitch?
Cheers Loui, I have a lot going on now mate. Website is almost finished, finishing touches. Posters are nearly ready too. I will be arranging a meeting with CUFC soon to discuss the 17th. I have had a meeting with Brian Lloyd about the mini bus and he gave me some great ideas which I am pursuing at the moment, which hopefully will come to fruition in a few days. He also made the first donation to the project...Cheers Brian...Chuffed to bits for all your help.
I hope to have transport for the trip in place soon, fingers crossed, Holls is looking into it for me. Wilbo is doing hours of work in preparation, thanks mate. I will require the proper food intake during the trip and hopefully I have a sponsor for that. The route is being designed and will be in place by next Friday. Courtesy Ian Botham Trust. Training gear is being supplied by GB Events...Mike James.
All I need now is assistance with the walk its self. There are 14 days. If anyone would like to assist in this great cause, I would appreciate it. I know 4 hours walking with me might seem like a life time, but think of the Juniors and the freedom a minibus will give them. Pledge a day on the calendar...you know it makes sense Rodney...
Hi all, im just sitting by the pool on my hols thinking what a good thing this is of Warren to do for the club. So not trying to STEEL (get it) your thunder waz, but myself and the lads that did the coast 2 coast were talking about doing the same route as u but on the bikes (we would give u a head start say a week haha), i will catch up with u next week waz and have a crack about it then. Oh by the way a few of the lads were out last sunday watching the GERS stuff the scum, when STEVE BELLAS was heard saying that he and GRIFF were going to run the coast 2 coast to raise some money for the club. This was said just after he and TODDIE both dropped their slippy san migeul bottles so how true this is we will have to wait and see
I seen Mr Steele last Sunday in the pub after he had done 25 miles and boy did he look tired. He only stayed to watch 25 minutes of Liverpool's demolition of the dark side, had 1 pint of coke and wouldn't sit down for the fear that he wouldn't get back up again.
I was so shocked that I have got my substantial backside out of bed 3 mornings this week at 6.00am to get some miles in.
If you are going to pledge even a day to this very worthwhile cause can I suggest you start training for it.
One thought might be that we arrange to meet on a sunday as a group and set off to do a certain amount of miles - watch this space on that one.
It's to try to raise enough money to buy a mini bus predominently for the junior section of the Club, although there will be occasions when the County League Team (they play their away games in West Cumbria) and the Ladies team (they play all over the County) would use it.
