Chelsea signings ban

Apparently, Chelsea are barred from any new signings until 2011, due to inducing a young French player to break his contract.

I wonder how this sits with many transfers- did Man City not induce Lescott to break his contract at Everton??  smile

Don't worry lads it happened to Celtic at the start of the year 2000, but the wording was slighlty different it read  "you are banned from signing any player that is actually quite good "
Sure enough we have not dared to challenge it even 9 years later.cry

Celtic cannot sign top level players because they want wages that even a club with 60,000 supporters every week cannot afford to pay without going out of business. The club is absolutlely right not to get involved.

If FIFA are finally trying to stop a very few rich people from taking football out of the hands of football people, then good luck to them. A club like Lens in France deserve more respect than the selfish rich at Chelsea are prepared to give.

City (Mancehster) could buy who they want but City (Carlisle) might have some restrictions.

Shame what is happening to football at senior level. It used to be a sport where you could succeed on ability. Now it is a play thing for a very few.

May mean that eventually people with ability will look to other sports

Dominoes!!! Are you any good?

Now there is a sport. Maybe a club social night brewing here; might waken up some of our more senior members.

Anyway Mike, did you have some ability ?
