why should anybody answer qustons from someone who wont post their name. you want answers why not ask to his face? i have been with brian at northbank and was over the moon when he decided to join city. my take on the events is that at northbank yes mistakes were made but brian was doing a vast amount of work by himself and there were too many people happy to sit back and watch nobody can do it all themself. im pleased to say that he is now at a club with a great setup and brian is very much a part of it. keep up the good work brian.

I have managed the County League side for over a decade and the problem with the Under 18's is easily answered.
Firstly their Managers see them as their players and when a big game came around on a Sunday such as a top league clash or a Cup tie the players came out with an excuse not to play on a Saturday and sometimes two games was too much.
Secondly all Under 18's have been asked to come to Pre-Season Training via their Managers. If they don't go to the training then we summise that they only want to play on a Sunday.  We will be training all through the season and if any Under 18 feels he wants to play for the County Side then come and see me or Paul Henderson or Ollie Driver.
Out of John Atkinson's side i have had Rob Mathieson play, Matthew Innes, Dean Raine is playing and played in our Cup final at Borough Park as did Neil Jeffery who has joined John's side. Callum Johnston played but found it hard then decided to play for Longtown and Martin Hall was asked but he had played for Longtown ( Rod Bozalenski poaching) I ran all over the town picking up Carl Murphy and he moved to play for Gretna.
Most of my side last year were between 16 - 20yrs old so if your boy wants to play then get in touch with the Under 18's manager or bring him to training. The itinery for training is on the website. We have a game tomorrow at the Sheepmount, bring him down and he will get a game. We want players who are commited to the Club.
When selecting a side you have to think ahead and what selection entails. If the Under 18's players cry off on a Saturday and let the County League side down and the player who has come in place of him has a good game then you have to say to the Under 18 sorry but you are not playing this week you were unavailable last week and i am not changing the side and he has to be patient to get back in the side and a number of the younger players follow Carlisle Utd and are only willing to play when Carlisle are away.
I know this is a bit long winded but to answer your question it is simple get the lad down to Senior training and games and he will get a game. Their are no favourites we want our Under 18's to sign and play for the Senior side.
We want to get the best for every player.

as club secretary i can inform you that we get requests from the cfa, for players to attend county trials, these requests are passed on to the relevant age group mangers, it is up to them to put the players names forward, as they usually do, don't blame us if thay are not picked by the cfa!! west coast teams seem to be favoured here?biggrin

There were trials held last week for both under 16s and 18s at county level. I don't think anyone from City was involved with the 16s, but the City side are young at that age-group (under 15s this season).

The under 18s I am not so sure about- I know I put a news item on the City website about the trials- a week or two before they took place. It might not be too late yet- after all, it's still July- it seems ridiculously early to be holding trials.

If anyone is keen to play for the county, I would suggest they speak to their coach- I'm sure there are no issues between the club and county.

I would like to think there's still time to be picked, if the boys are keen to play.

THE INFORMATION I HAVE IS THAT, IF YOU PLAY FOR CITY, YOU DONT PLAY FOR THE COUNTY. AND TELL ME IF THIS IS TRUE . ( YOU PLAY FOR THE COUNTY AND YOU ARE ON THE SUB BENCH) THIS MY BOY TELLS ME HAPPENS. IF THEY ARE FIT OR NOT.

IF THIS IS TRUE, ITS A VERY SAD DAY FOR FOOTBALL

Information is certainly passed on, the minute i recieve it it is forwarded to the Managers, who then have the job of selecting anyone who wishes to go to the trials. as i said before it is either the Team manager not doing his job or the County not selecting our Players.no

Team manager, s not doing ther job i think, two of my boy,s  mates never found out at all,no fact.

I do hope this never happens again

This is so sad , i intend to contact the c.f,a. and find out for myself the boys they have picked, and ask them if they no, or are they put under pressure not to play for the c.f.a. Because if they do they ( may not be picked for city,s team or put on the sub,s bench,)
