I must congratulate everyone involved in this weekends events. I thought you all did the club proud.
A great event with great weather, good atmosphere(? Workington U18) good organisation and fantastic team work by everyone. From Saturday 7am till Sunday 5pm.
I for one am very proud to be involved.
Next year will be even better...as long as Bender doesnt have a clutcher and Twiggy stays sober
Just a thank you too all those who helped refereeing. The football festival was a great weekend and i know my legs are suffering but it is worth it to see everyone enjoying themselves and we couldn't have picked a better weekend. Morton was a great venue and the Burger van and the Bar seemed to have done great. Thanks to the Ladies on the van and Wazza and his staff on the bar i am sure that was low calorie lager you were on Waz.
The Festival this year was the best of the 3 we have put on (IMO).
The venue was excellent (many thanks to Mike Stainton and the school for allowing us to have it there), the weather obviously helped (thanks to Mike Keyes who said 10 hail mary's every day for a month), big thanks to Mrs Lu**** and her sister for the hard work in the burger van in those conditions, the same to the lovely Mrs Steele who did the same at the bar and never stopped smiling all weekend (it must be something to do with being married to him I guess), all the parents who baked cakes, the mums, dads and kids who helped on the stalls, the refs who did a great job in that heat (Gary who did the under 12's did 16 games in a row - I bet you slept well last night mate), the teams (with 1 exception, already mentioned), parents and supporters (with 1 exception - you know who you are Priest) who attended were great, the lads who camped out on Friday night to get an early start on Saturday morning, particularly Simes McGrimes who did the Saturday night as well so that some of the equipment could be left up for the Sunday, if I have missed anyone I'm sorry, everyone involved should be very proud of the huge effort and commitment they put in to this year's festival, well done.
Congratulations to all involved , What a Brilliant weekend , Easily best festival we have had , the hard work and commitment voluntary put in by everyone was amazing , CITY ON THE UP ,
I totally agree with what you all say guys. The effort put in by everyone was amazing. Obviously the hot weather went a great way to ensuring we had a cracking weekend. I think a special mention should be given to Karen Lu**** and her sister and also to Adrienne ( Waza's better half ) for there hard work in what must have been sweltering conditions. I think Carlisle City FC can be very proud of itself after this weekend.
I must say that the weekend was 1 of the best in a long time at this club and was so pleased to see every1 from Sid Gill and the rest of the old timers who started the club to the new under 7 and thier parents for next year all working together to make this club the best in the town. Lets hope that we ALL pull together and make this club what we all want it to be. UP THE CITY
Cannot add much more to what has already been said except WE ARE THE BEST CLUB IN TOWN.
We will soon be the best club in the county and beyond. We have plans and although many obstacles will be put in our way, we have the right people and enough determination to overcome them all.
