Congratulations to Matty Green on becoming a manager for the first time.
He will take over Steve Bellas and Charlie Moores under 16 team from last year.
Whilst he has never managed before the Executive Committee were confident that Matty is capable of taking on this important role at our Club. He will have autonomy to choose his "staff" so to speak, but will have any number of willing helpers to ask advice from in Steve, Charlie, Olly, Hendy and myself (to mention a few).
Don't know the full ins and outs of the appointment but the boy is potentially a first team player and hopefully with pre-season and all the training and games to get fit and Matty has had trouble with shins etc. I would have thought getting Matty fit has he has a lot of years as a player for the Club to consider. My view on this is that he should concentrate on his own game so he can up his level. I can see that he could coach some nights but for the players good i can't understand his logic of wanting to run and Under 18 side and i think if we want the best out of him as a player that what he needs to concentrate on.
