I had been trying desperately to think of an April Fools story, but Newcastle United have created one for me. As far as I can tell, it is genuine news that he is taking over as manager. It seems an incredible leap of faith by the Newcastle board, which also smacks to me of sheer desperation.
Apparently he's just committing himself to eight games, much like Hiddink at Chelsea. This short-term management seems to be catching on. I guess he doesn't fancy managing in the Championship!!
