Dubious goals committee
(Preview)
I believe the committee may need to sit, to decide the scorer of the second goal last week at home to Alnwick! I had a fairly clear view and was of the opinion that Tom Short's free-kick went in directly with no other touch. Graeme Lupton is claiming he touched it- what are the views of any witnesses??

City U18A v HCC Sunday 27th September
(Preview)
Matty advises me that the game is at Keenan Park tomorrow KO 1.30. It should be a good game as I am told HCC are one of the favourites for the league. If your free go along and support the City team, talking to the Alliance manager, Mr Bellas, after the U18A v Northbank game last week, he was full of praise fo...

Not sure how many boys or parents check our message board, but if there are any players who signed on for Carlisle City under 14s this season (which has since folded) and have not been fixed up with another team. You are more than welcome to come and give Carlisle City Whites a try. The last couple of match...

Roy Keane= managerial liability
(Preview)
Let me be the first to say it and, agreed, I probably wouldn't say it to his face. Surely, the evidence is building that he is about to join the long list of great players who just cannot cut it in management.

City v Delaval
(Preview)
Slightly under par performance IMO but still 3 points in the bag keeps the lads up there in the league table where we want to be. I thought Luppy looked dangerous and ran the lines expertly, Hols worked his crocs off and got his reward setting up the killer second goal and Chez was superb all game and neve...

CCFC Under 14 Girls
(Preview)
They have a 100% record so far this season. Should have played 2 league and 1 cup game so far and have been given walk over's in all 3. I think it's that scary bald bloke who runs them, he frightens the opposition into conceding before a ball is kicked.

Carlisle City under 10's
(Preview)
Just back in from refereeing Carlisle City under 10s V Carlisle United under 10s at the Sheepmount. Must say I was extremely impressed with the way Carlisle City played. They are a credit to their coaches Mark Boundy and Simon Beck. The game was played in 4 x 15 minutes periods, with the final score endi...

Manchester time zone
(Preview)
I presume it is now accepted that Manchester has it's own time-zone. For every minute of Greenwich mean time, an extra few seconds is added on in Manchester. I presume that referees must adjust their watches as they leave the M61.

Parton v City 19th September
(Preview)
The County League team travelled to Parton last Saturday expecting a real test of their promotion credentials (Joe Watson - I will explain what that means next time I see you) and came away with a solid 5-0 victory. Playing against the breeze in the first half Parton attacked strongly from the off. Cit...
