Mark and I are looking to change the minibus in the summer for something a littele newer. We need to raise £2k to achieve this so we are looking at a 100 mile walk ( West Highland Way) On this occassion we are looking for 8 others to do it with us over 4 days raising two hundred pounds each. The walk will be towards the end of April. We have three volunteers already so if your interested let me know and I will come to you with the finalised details shortly, it will be only 10 walkers plus a driver, stopping in hostels.

Not sure the reason for the omg's, why dont you just ask why the planned fund raising didnt happen in April, and you might get the answer!

Perhaps we should consider supporting an outside charity something to do with cancer or someone with cancer?

Yes I understand your comments, however the use of the bus is primarily for the use of king moor school. By having access to the minibus all year, the children have more flexibility for external events and the school saves a lot of money, which can be better spent In other areas within their education commitments!

also we have a commitment to the school, with our club link. So it is being well spent and used in a local aspect!

Hi, I would just like to say the club do try to support a few local charities . Over the past few years I and some great guys at the club have done the 3 peaks challenge , the coast to coast , 50 mile Kennedy challenge to name just a couple and gave quite a lot to the Dr Obrian leukaemia fund and the Eden valley hospice. We are doing a charity bike ride this weekend which we do annualy and give the money to a local charity. I'm sure as a club we will always try to support these great charities and the fright against cancer. But as for the mini bus I feel we need to keep the link with the school and try to keep the bus up to date as a lot of hard work went into it in the first place to get the bus. I know times are hard but we need to keep trying with all these good things for our kids futures .

My self and Ray Swails also organised a football event for adults last summer, which we raised money for a junior members parent who had been diagnosed with Cancer and the money was handed over on behalf of the club to help with house hold cost's while they were absent from work.
