The ref in City's Alliance game yesterday was being assessed during the game, and to be fair he did quite well.
You do wonder though if the presence of the assesor affects some of the ref's decisions. I know it shouldn't but we all react differently when we know we are being watched. It might be better if the assessment was done more discreetly- the assessor yesterday with his clipboard may as well have had a flashing light on his head.
