My understanding is that the wonga is in a separate account until such time that a minibus can be purchased. Unfortunately despite the generosity of loads of businesses and individuals who supported the cause Warren, Mark and Kerro undertook the final figure was short of what they had hoped to raise.
I am sure Joe McGarry, Brian hall or Jackie Williamson would be happy to enlighten you further.
Ironically Warren could have had used the minibus this weekend had one been procured as his U12s are away to Whitehaven in the County Cup.
are the profits from the race night going to the mini bus fund?or is what you raise going to be kept secret aswell, how much was raised for the mini bus?,how much short?,how are you going to raise the rest?or is the money going to get spent on a committeechristmas p-ss up,whats going on here is like an agatha christie novel, lets have some clear and honest answers lads, because the rumour mill is going into overdrive on whats happening to the money
Can "anonymous" contact me as chairman of the club and I will be happy to account for the mini bus.
We also produce financial statements each year which shows how we raise and spend money. Anonymous is welcome to have a copy of year ended 31 May 2010 so that he/she can see for themselves.
Nothing is hidden to those who want to see but through the proper channels please. A public Messageboard is not appropriate for this.
You can contact me by email at "joemcgarry@msn.com". Once I know that a request for information is from a named and identified person, I will be happy to answer their questions.
why are you amazed? as donors of money do we not have the right to be told how much was raised especially when there are rumours after all the publicity i for one am surprised border news/news and star haven't done a follow up making public the amaounts raised ect
Of course you have the right, you also choose who runs the club, and these chosen people will run it as they see fit as elected officials of the club.
Joe has stated that records are kept of funds raised, as well as many other matters, and details will be published as and when seen fit by the committee.
If you wish to see things earlier, then get yourself onto the committee.
i have no wish to be on the committee but i think all us hardworking people who support the club and have donated have the right to know where the money has gone and the amount raised especially due to the worrying rumours which cloud this appeal
why the aggro ????????? if u want the info get in touch with the right people who have clearly stated they will furnish u with it........ why sign in as anonymous ???????? u seem to have plenty to say about whats goin on in the club rightly or wrongly.... be a man and put ur name to ur comments.
why do i have to come forward with my name? when there is such secrecy surrounding the funds raised for the minibus if there is nothing to hide publish them on here so every one can see amounts collected plus any expenses taken there is never any problem in for example children in need making public the totals raised dont see why we are sitting here months later none the wiser unless of course there are discrepences? i worked hard to contribute as did alot of people and think we all have the right to see where the money has gone what is the problem in publishing a total unless its a worry that it doesnt add up!!
the figures were read out at a club meetin i attended a couple of months ago......some monies were still outstanding then.... get in touch with the appropriate people who will be only too happy to give u the figures
i think to put all the rumours to bed regarding one of the fundraisers just publish the minibus fund accounts on here then everyone can see for themselves and then if anyone has any problems they can raise them with the relevent authorities this is no way a witch hunt but i think the truth has to come out one way or another
Thanks Marcus- I'm intrigued as to why you thought you were that man!
I havn't got the full details in front of me but I see no problem in publishing full details on here of income & expenses from the walk. As people have rightly said, "charity appeals" do have a public duty in many ways to do this.
Joe McGarry did ask me to do this on the club website and it will be on there very soon.
Also, for the record, the club race night on Saturday evening raised approximately £1,500- well done to all involved. This sum goes into general club funds- not the bus fund.
Mark and I are delighted to announce that we have now purchased a minibus with the funds raised from the John O Groats Walk. We have worked tirelessly over the last year to enable this to happen and in partnership with Kingmoor Junior School, we should be able to hand the bus over to the school for weekday use before the end of term.
THANK YOU TO EVERYONE FOR THEIR SUPPORT AND DONATIONS.
Well done Waza and Wilbo, good effort. And well done the three peaks boys, especially Banj and Harby and Bellas. Must of been like last of the summer wine. Are the rumours true that they came down Snowdon in a tin bath...?
