Tom is now leaving the area, to live in the North-East. He has been a fine servant to the club and it was fitting that he left with two trophies this year.
We need too remember that Tom came through Edgar Wills junior sides and the quality he shows both on and off the field are an excellent example for all to adhere too! We need to put this to our juniors and remind them that there is senior football after they have passed the age of 16. and it is only done by the will to want to play at a high level. The juniors need to up there llevel of ability by putting some hard work during per-season and wanting to play every saturday. Good Luck Tom you will be a bigger miss for us than Rio for England.
Having worked with Tom for a number of years as Willie's assistant and later as manager I cant speak highly enough of him. We have never had a single problem with him, he is an intelligent lad who knows his strengths, great reader of the game, fearless in the tackle, good in the air for someone of his size, used the ball well and is a fantastic team player and individual.
He has been living in the north east on and off for a number of years and yet whenever you rang him to see that he was ok the answer was always the same "yes boss, what time", he never asked for expenses to travel he paid it himself, even came through for mid week games knowing he wouldn't get back home to 11 or 12 at night, great committment, effort and attitude a proper player with old fashioned values and honesty.
I'm so pleased all this was recognised by the management and players at the presentation night last friday, he thoroughly deserved it and will be a huge miss at the Club both as a player and as one of the lads.
All the best Fozzy lad keep in touch with everyone and good luck with the new house.
