I have received an e-mail from Nigel Dixon the Chairman of Lammack Juniors thanking us for our hospitality on saturday and commenting that our players were a credit to our club. He has also invited any of our teams to go down to Blackburn and play them. Anyone wanting to do so should see me and I will let you have his contact details.
I think it is important that this message, particularly the bit about the conduct of our players, is conveyed to the managers, coaches, players & parents of all involved.
Congratulations to Andy Raine, Simon Doyle, Warren Steele, Mark Chambers, Mike Keyes, Steve Hindmarsh, Gary Wilson, Duncan Adams & all the players.
I believe one City manager wondered why his team had not been asked to play against Lammack. It was because Lammack brought up 5 teams at specific age groups and therefore if you were not asked to play it was because they did not bring a team up in your age group, sorry for any confusion on that one, my fault.
Finally a big thank you to our tea & coffee makers, Joe McGarry (who said bank managers couldn't make tea), Alison Walker & Phoebe Wilson, who stayed in the kitchen for 3 or 4 hours making sure everyone was "catered for".
Oh, and to Eric Kinder who came down and moaned about the coffee, then the biscuits and finally the blackcurrant juice, those poor YTS lads must have a job on trying to please him.
Well done everyone, it was a good day and we have met some really nice people in Lammack.
