Penrith won 6-0 in a very one-sided affair. Two goals each for Lynn and Douglas plus others from Robinson & Thornton. Gillford hit the post through Riding but that was about the sum total of their efforts.
Thornton and Davidson kept Reedo and Riding very quiet, infact talking to Mike on sunday he reckons he touched the ball about a dozen times, Craig Wilson's delivery of set plays was very good on the night and Lynno bossed the middle of the park, Dean Douglas was dangerous when he had the ball, Mattie Lea was excellent and Robinson held it up well.
Gilly didn't have enough of the ball to do Penrith any damage and were second best all over the pitch on the night, shame because talking to a few of the GP people before the game they were really looking forward to having a go at Penrith.
GP should be happy with their first year in the NL, mid table is very respectable at your 1st attempt, its a tough league, i'm sure you will have ambitions to move further up the table next season.
