City hit the bar in the early stages with a great strike from Johnno that Greeny in the Amateurs goal would have had no chance of saving had it been a foot lower. The game was played at a frantic pace to start with and neither side getting much of a foot hold.
To be fair I thought we looked comfortable against a team that had thrashed us 6-0 only a couple of weeks ago and we deservedly took the lead with a gary milne header from a set play. Half time 1-0.
Second half it was all Amateurs and no great suprise that they scored an equaliser after Joe Watson was shrugged off the ball by ex city player chris kelleher who finished clinically. After their equaliser they pushed for a winner and we had to defend well with Rushy and Bully playing particularly well.
Amateurs got their second and ultimately the winner from a corner when Lee Otway, suprisingly playing at centre back, rose above his marker to head home.
We threw caution to the wind and pushed Gary Milne up top and it nearly paid off when Seppy got on the end of his flick on and tried to lift it over greeny but he made a smart save with his legs.
Very disappointing at the end not to have held on to a point, but that's life. We can still gain promotion but have to win all 5 of our remaining games, including a home game against Amateurs.
Martyn Hall, Chris Rush and Dan Bulman deserve a mention for us last night as they all had good games, as do Phil Hetherington, Lee Otway and Tom Lu**** for Amateurs.
