With only 13 weeks to go to the walk I am now making the website live and hopefully by the turn of the year the posters will be dotted about trying to get as much sponsorship as possible. All help will be gratefully accepted and is needed in the persuit of the target. Any further ideas will also be appreciated.
Sponsorship forms will be made available at the next meeting in January. Hopefully all teams can help.
I'm not sure I like the picture of your very talented under 7 team with Bob Hoskins, what was he doing at CUFC on the same day your lads were there. Was he getting into character for something maybe!!
This weather is causing havoc with the preparations for the walk, we haven't been out training for 3 weeks as the pavements are so treacherous.
Waza - I think we will have to ask the Executive Committee for a few quid and go and get some warm weather/altitude training. Tenerife sounds quite good, although knowing how tight the old boys are I would think Silloth might be option.
Oh how time flies, only 20 days till the walk, really looking forward to it.... if anyone can spare a day or two to assist me, let me know.... Cheers Waza
Ha ha, the response was amazing, Thanks to Mark Wilson, Alan Kerr, Darren Irving, Joe McGarry, Andy Walker, Raymond Swailes, Peter Osgood, Mike Reed and my son Tyla, who are attempting the walk.
On the 17th April we should be at Gretna about 9.30am, if any managers can come and walk the last 7 miles it would be great. I will have my U11 and U7 waiting at Asda getting buckets filled at 11am, for us arriving. If any other manager in the juniors would like to get their team to Asda to do a skill warm up etc prior to us walking into town, it would be appreciated. We will finish in town centre.... with buckets for donations.
Thank you to everyone for your help. If poss, a girls team would be a great idea, to show the city of the availability of of girls football and maybe help the growth of that side of the club, which is definitely worth while.
Alight boys and girls, well its nearly time. The donations I have received so far have been amazing, I hope you can assist with getting the total where it needs to be. The walk looks even harder now with the weather, but whats a challenge without more barriers.

I am expecting to leave Gretna Chase at 9-15am to get to Asda for 11- A nice lie in and a short walk...its only 7 miles boys..... looks like there is gonna be a good turn out at Asda... Adrienne is bringing buckets but if you can try and source some yourselves it will come in handy.
