Excuse me, I did ask a few fervalent questions last time you entered such remarks and you never answered.
I for one am very concerned at your remarks and would be very interested in furthering the discussion, but first you must substantiate your claim and also reveal your name. In private if you prefer, my number is available.
I will try and answer "Players dad" as best I can.
My involvement with the junior teams at our Club is solely as a supporter and as part of the Committee that helps the day to day running of the Club as a whole. The is no single person at our Club who I am aware of who would (a) try to stop any of our player's playing for the County Teams (I played for the County myself when I was younger and always thought it an honour to do so) and (b) if there was such an individual he/she would not have the authority to do so (the Club is run by Committee's not individuals).
I actually had to ask someone tonight how our player's are selected for the County teams as I didn't know.
The understanding I have is that the CFA send the Club Secretary a letter inviting player's to trials and he passes them on to the respective manager. I can assure you I have absolutely nothing to do with this process at any point whatsoever.
If you are actually the father of a CCFC player I am more than happy to address any concerns you may have with me personally face to face. I will be at the Sheepmount tomorrow with many other CCFC people for the training session that our training officer Mike Keyes has put on with Carlisle Utd Reserve and youth team coach Eric Kinder, starts at 6.00pm.
Alternatively I will be at the Sheepmount on saturday morning/afternoon watching some of our teams play and again on Sunday doing the same. If you can't make any of those and feel that nothing gets done at CCFC we have a committee meeting on Monday in the Ex Club starts at 7.30pm, where you can have an agenda item and put your concerns about the club and me for that matter to the Committee.
Just e-mail the web site and Brian will make sure you can have as long as you want on monday to say why you think nothing get's done.
we are always looking for more volunteers at CCFC so if you believe you have something to offer please get in touch.
I am concerned if this is a player's dad and if he is, I urge him to contact me as chairman of Carlisle City FC and give me the details so that I can deal with his concerns.
I would expect all teams to support the county squads but if there is a problem, I need to be given the details.
You may have already been in touch with Joe McGarry, but if you haven't my offer still stands.
I will be at the Sheepmount again tomorrow just after 1.00 (helping out with the County League team, so bottom of the bank somewhere) and hopefully again on Sunday.
The next Executive Committee meets on 28th September at 7.30 in the Ex and the next full Manager's Committee meets on 05th October at 7.30 again in the Ex. If you want to have an agenda item at either meeting you are most welcome, simply contact the web site and we will make sure you have the opportunity to have your say.
I'm not trying to be clever or funny with you, so please don't think that and have only the messageboard to "talk" to you, so if you believe our Club is doing something wrong (or me in particular for that matter) get in touch with Joe McGarry or myself and we will do what we can to remedy your concerns.
It's an open invitation, Joe and myself are normally knocking about the City games on a saturday/sunday so just introduce yourselves to one of us or feel free to come to a meeting.
To keep all parents in the loop so to speak re the issue of their children being selected for CFA trials I have been in touch with the CFA and Geoff Turrell has provided me with their policy document. We will be discussing this at the next Executive Committee meeting on 28th September to make sure we are fully complying with it and after a cursory look I think we can perhaps make some suggestions to the CFA to make this an even better policy.
We are trying to put as many of the CCFC policies on this site as possible, so perhaps, with the permission of the CFA we could put this one on as well.
Hope you make him wear a nice pinny when he's hoovering
