I thought tonight's game against Gillford Park was a competitive affair, played in a good spirit in appalling conditions.

The only goal was scored during probably the heaviest rain, and I'm sure the conditions were a factor in the keeper losing the ball.

It was the perfect game Brian for the new managers to see how the 22 players would perform, the conditions were not the best but what do you expect in July!!, on City's performance i thought they were very well organised and held their positions well , i am sure you will have a good season, Good luck for the season from all at Gilly.

From what I've seen of 2nd division of Northern League, the standard of football is not that much different from the Alliance.

No doubt the other sides will be experienced and very committed, but it will be an interesting challenge.

Thanks for your comments Mike. it is appreciated. I have not met you yet but hopefully will in the near future.

The game was a good one considering the conditions and shows football in Carlisle in a good light.
