County League AGM
Permalink

Last night at Netherhall saw two new sides enter the First Division of the County League  both from Workington. Yankees who have been a successful Sunday League side and they will play on the Salterbeck pitch as will the other Workington side. There are ten sides in the Premier Division and eleven in the First Division. A split vote for the starting date of the season saw the Chairman Graham Young pick the 8th August over the 15th August.
Carlisle City will play in the First Division and on a personnel note i received the Secretary of the Year Award for that Division last season and received a Shield and a Trophy and a £30 cheque from the League.
The League have also joined the respect campaign and we will be asked to put some sort of barrier two metres from the touch line on both sides.

Thanks for that Dougie.  What are the other Workington side known as? Have they got enough players out there to go round?
