As most of you will know Dougie "Larto" Ivison will not be running the County League team next season.
The new manager will be Paul Henderson and he will be assisted by Olly Driver, who will also play for the team (if selected).
Paul has been a very successful youth team manager for many years and last year Olly assisted him to make our Under 18 team the league champions.
Paul played much of his football for Carlisle City FC and we are delighted to have him as County League manager.
Good Luck to both of you.
ps Olly - I have amended your contract as you requested. It now reads "if a Club in the Champions League are willing to pay up my contract of 2 euros I can leave", sorry about putting 2M euros I had cut and pasted that bit from Holliday's contract when Barcelona were looking at him, silly me.
I would like to think the Hendo/Driver partnership will be good for your county/U18/U16 /anyone else who they can sign on BUT i think the knowlegable football people out there know it takes more than youths to hold there own in that league? just ask Dougie he used every player available in the city But hey they cant be as bad as Robinson/Pearson can they?
Hopefully there will be some older heads around as well to offer the benefit of their experience. From what I saw of that division last season, there are a lot of young players in the league.
To Anonymous - Didn't Alan Hansen say something like "you will never win anything with kids". Taggart then went on to win the league me thinks and are you saying we at City do not have any football knowledge, how very dare you.
As Brian says there will be some experienced lads in there amongst the younger players, many by the way, who have made their debuts in the Alliance team.
On Barry and Paul what's happened happened and it's a matter of record, it doesn't make them bad managers/coaches/blokes.
To Waza - I will be seeing you on Sunday and it's grand mothers actually, you forget how old I am!!!
For those of you who started reading Mark Wilson';s epitaph on myself i would like to introduce you to the real Gregorz "Lato" as he look today. Don't see much of a resembalance. He played for Poland when they finished 3rd in the 1974 World Cup, just when i was hitting my peak as a Goalkeeper. I got the knickname from my appearance and the Red Socks with the White top (Polands strip) Lato is now President of the Polish FA.
