It was a lovely evening and the pitch looked in good condition, City had a small band of supporters, all of whom gorged themselves on fish and chips, courtesy of Jeffrey Bear.

We kicked up the hill in the first half and more than matched our opponents, whilst Alnwick had a bit more possession than us, we used it a bit better and actually looked the more threatening.

Chances were scarce, with neither keeper really having a save to make and the game ended 0-0 at half time.

The second half started much like the first, however, City started to get hold of it a bit better and with Tom Foster, Jamie Heath and Scott Priest getting more and more on the ball we increasingly looked like we were going to score.

From a corner the ball was expertly delivered into the box by Heathy and Bello got in amongst a ruck of players to head home. Not long after the same player bussled his way between two Alnwick defenders to hit an excellent right foot shot past the keeper from 20 yards.

Alnwick then threw caution to the wind and Adam had to make a couple of smart saves before having to make an outstanding one to stop an almost certain goal.

The final whistle blew and we headed of to the bar for a diet coke with 3 points in the bag and a good performance to boot.

Adam was his usual immaculate self, Hilly was imperious at centre back, Ivan is getting more and more confident at right back, Craig needs to realise his potential, Seppie hadn't had enough weed, Heathy didn't get booked, Johnno only looked at himself 10 times, Robin lost his voice, Foster is the guvnor, Priesty is unique, Bello finally did what we have been telling him to do all year in the last match, Dan is going to be a player and Don is a legend.

Love to all, see you at the festival 30th and 31st May (morton school), Presentation night on 05th June (Denton Holme Club), Edinburgh on 27th June (bus leaves Turf 9.00am) or pre season on 04th July (Venue TBA).

Enjoy the restbiggrin

Thanks for that Mark.

Looking ahead to next season, the division could be wide open if Gillford go up, and if Walker decline following the loss of their manager.
