I am not saying that the answer of Stockport County is incorrect but if you look at his career record below he was at Peterborough before he was at Stockport County and it does not show he played any games for either.

But are these facts correct. I have only posted what i found. There maybe more information out there. Where Mark got the Stockport County answer from maybe there is some imformation there.
This is where i got my answer from - In the Spring of 1995, during his lengthy ban from football, Eric returned to the Gers region in South West France, to fulfill a life-long ambition of acting. His brief appearance as Lionel, a two-timing, rugby-playing boyfriend of a girl whose father had quit the rat race and bought a duck farm received suprisingly rave reviews. The comedy film was called, appropriately, 'Le Bonheur est dans le Pre' (or 'Happiness In The Field' in America). It also starred Eric's brother Joel Cantona, who also played football (for Stockport County). No mention of Peterborough!!
Joel Stockport: Hello Gaff. My friends tell me Eric Cantona's brother played for Stockport County! Is this true? The Gaffer says: He did Joel, and he shares your name! Joel Cantona was signed by Stockport around the same time Eric was rapidly becoming one of the greatest ever foreign imports. However, his debut as sub consisted of 15 forgettable minutes at the end of a home defeat by Bournemouth and little was heard of him afterwards. Come to think of it, are YOU Joel Cantona trying to see if anyone remembers you?
I remember playing against him on Brunton Park for the ressies. He was at Stockport at the time. He had a massive nose and whinged all game! If he made a first team appearance for Stockport they must have been desperate!!!!
Seriously, TF was one of the best I have ever played football with, he used to get called 'sniffer' from time to time but it was nothing to do with him sniffing goals (which he did magnificently by the way), it was that snowt!!
It must have been one of the biggest to ever grace Brunton Park, although Rod Stewart did play there once, and I suspect he has the biggest nose in the world.
Seriously, Tony Fyfe did take a lot of stick when he played the professional game, and a lot of it was undeserved.
As if by magic I seen Fyfey in the Gosling last night and was telling him about the message board.
The big man looks fitter now than when he played, even though he has a full head of grey hair and he is going to be a grand dad for the third time.
I remeber the stick Tony and another good player Brent Hetherington used to take when they played for CUFC, totally unwarranted IMO, although Brent was a bit of a rascal!!
It seems to be a theme with Carlisle supporters that they can give a hard time to local players. In more recent times, Tony Hopper & Michael Jack both came in for fearful abuse, and much of that was over the top.
